Clinical supervision can be a wonderful environment to process and learn about multicultural competency. Expressive arts and sandtray offers an even richer way to explore your own multicultural identity and how to apply that to work with our clients. Several sandtray/expressive arts therapy examples will be discussed. These examples can be used in a dyad, a group, or individually.
§ Objectives:
1. List the benefits of using sandtray/expressive arts with associates to supplement traditional supervision;
2. Identify how sandtray/expressive arts can be used for clinical supervision, consultation, or to process our work with our clients;
3. Learn and practice specific examples of sandtray/expressive arts prompts that process work with clients during clinical supervision;
4. Process your own multicultural identities;
5. Review the state of Texas board rules regarding continuing education according to BHEC’s ethical requirements.
